Presented here is a very clean, solid and great driving example of the E12, BMW’s first-ever 5-series.
Launched in 1972, the E12 was the successor of the “Neue Klasse” model.
The concept proved such a hit that the 5-series is still one of the most important cars in BMW’s lineup today, and probably the genesis of the modern sports saloon.

This example was delivered new to Germany, before being exported to Belgium in 2003, where it was subsequently acquired by the current owner, a BMW Club member, in 2010.
The grey velours interior is in very well-kept original condition.
All the BMW’s mechanicals are in excellent condition. The gearbox is freshly rebuilt and the engine was upgraded by the current owner to a 3-litre engine from an E23 730i, which results in a massive increase in torque and usable power.
The conversion has been done in such a way that it is not detectable, unless by a very expertly trained eye.

The exterior of the car is in excellent condition, having benefited from a good quality repaint in its original colour around 7 years ago.
One of the last first-series E12s, this example retains many early features.
