Beschreibung
"The 'BMW New Six' was a line of full size luxury saloons and GT coupés produced from 1968 to 1977. All models used the then-new M30 straight-six engine, an engine that would become renowned for silky smooth power delivery which punched far above what its litre capacity should have allowed. The E3 version, which marked BMW's return to the full size luxury saloon market after a hiatus of five years, was introduced as a response to growing market segment dominated by Mercedes-Benz. It was important in establishing BMW's reputation as a maker of sporting, luxury saloons.
Finished in Verona Red with a black interior, this car is the epitome of all the classic BMW styling cues, an amazing example of the ultra stylish BMW 2500 saloon. The kidney grilles, twin headlights and, of course, the Hofmeister D Kink curve can all be observed on his example of BMW heritage. The interior shows classic functionality of the day and is in superb condition, much like the entire car, wonderfully kept and one of the best E3 saloons we have come across. Purchased new from official BMW agents of the time, Rushington Motor Co. Ltd of Totton, Southampton in the March of 1973. The car comes complete with the original book pack and manuals including the original service book, owner's handbook, Europe Service Directory, warranty book and some other original material. The car has a great service history with 19 stamps in the book. The previous keeper was one of the Directors of Bowker Preston BMW where the car was looked after by his technical staff who passed it though MoT tests and changed the oil every year regardless of how few miles it had covered, of course, being a true classic means that this cars is exempt from both Road Tax and an MoT test certificate. Inspection is recommended to appreciate the fabulous quality of this motorcar, with 70's saloons becoming ever more popular, we would challenge any bidder not be impressed.
