In Austin's story, there is the "before" and "after" Seven. This small car has indeed considerably altered the history of the marque, and, in a certain way, was at the origin of the future Mini, which would also carry the name of "Seven", at the beginning. Launched in 1922, and powered by a small four-cylinder 750cc engine, with brakes on all four wheels, and able to accommodate bodies with two or four seats, closed or with a soft top, this simple and practical car met with such success that approximately 300,000 units were produced.
Purchased in 1994 at an auction organized by the Poulain- Le Fur, this adorable Seven was then described as in perfect working condition and had delighted the expert during a drive on the banks of the Seine. Since then, it has been driven within the park of the family property to the delight of children. Equipped with its side-screens, but not having been driven for 10 years, it will have to undergo a complete overhaul and a restart. And on this occasion, the water pipe on the cylinder head will need to be replaced. A fun and accessible vehicle, this Seven is a charming gateway to old restorations and is an ideal entry ticket into the world of cyclecars.
