The Austin Healey is the quintessential British Sports Car and this original RHD BT7 2+2 Mk2 3000 is the best example we have seen to date.

All classic cars are difficult to restore well, but some are more difficult than others. With the Austin Healey your eye seems to go straight for the panel and door gaps. Any irregularities and somehow the wonderful lines and radii of this iconic sports car don’t flow as they were intended.

3151 DW was restored by one of its custodians to such a high level that it has been awarded many concours wins and is still today simply in fabulous condition.

It’s not just the bodywork but the continuous care and improvement to the running gear, engine, and cooling system. The underside of car reflects the same high standard.

Everything about this car reveals the care and attention to detail that has gone into getting it to a concours winning standard. The hood and tonneau all fit beautifully, and the latter has its correct reinforced metal ribs to ensure that the cover retains its shape and performs as it should.

We are reassured when the restoration is supported by detailed photos, showing each stage of the restoration process and that the work has been thorough and correct

There is good provenance with this 4-owner car, with a number of substantial recent invoices for mechanical improvement.

The car has just undergone a service which included the radiator being fitted with additional cores for improved cooling.
